Feingold Listening Session - Brief Follow Up
Sun Mar 16, 2008 at 09:53:27 AM PDT
Russ start off talking about how he only got three hours of sleep thanks to some Senate shenanigans. Some sort of procedural thing involving lots of rapid fire votes, didn't catch the term he used.
Russ went on to talk about the Presidential race and praised all three Senators, with a bit of a back handed snark aimed at McCain. He noted that all three would have to work with congress in a bi-partisan way and that all of them would understand how to get things done.
He went on to touch on Health Care (Grahm-Feingold?), NCLB reform, campaign finance reform (Collins-Feingold) and clean water issues. He also noted that he sets his legislative priorities based on what he hears from people at listening sessions.
Not a lot of questions from the crowd as it was a fairly sparse turn out. Some random notes related to questions from the crowd:
*Dissed McCain on health care, likes Hillary's plan.
*No privatizing Social Security
*Iraqi refugees - End the Occupation
*Dissed McCain on Iraq
*Iraq Oil Money - No privatizing Iraq Oil money
*Compassionate Immigration Reform
*Defended Obama
Not much else to add other than it's always great spending some time with Senator Feingold.
